South Asia today is amongst the world's poorest and simultaneously richest rehions. Plagued with poverty and violence, yet endowed with stunning beauty and a rich cultural heritage. When India and Pakistan entered the nuclear club, the region overnight became the world's 'most dangerous' place to live in. But the hostility between India and Pakistan - which frequently dominates world headlines - tend to skew international perceptions of the region. This limited perception relegates other South Asian issues to sidelines. South Asia is home to more than one billion people, dozens of religions and faiths, several races and hundred of languages. Which is why it's time that South Asia speaks with one voice. The voice of SADA. SADA is an independent, Not-For-Profit group. The principal idea behind our modest venture is to bring together 800 million culturally similar but linguistically divided communities through a non-profit platform utilizing IP broadcast. Grammatically, Urdu, Hindi, and Hidustani are considered dialects of a single language which differ mainly in vocabulary where Urdu has borrowed from Persian and Arabic and Hindi / Hidustani has borrowed from Sanskrit. The languages Hindi, Urdu and Hindustani only differ in their script, (Urdu is written in a derivation of the Persian alphabet which is itself a derivation of the Arabic alphabet and Hindi is written in the Devanagari alphabet) however the basic dialect is very similar. This difference in the nature of script holds historical relevance because it was manipulated by political motivation during pre-independence era to alienate one huge population from another. This disparity can easily be resolved by audio/visual broadcasting means in Hindi/Urdu/Hindustani, which can be comprehended by both populations easily versus print media where it’s not possible to do so. More importantly Hindi/Urdu/Hindustani Audio Video broadcast over IP leads to linguistic unity of approx. 800 million people who speak these languages. |
